Somehow, the perfect fit is all about getting there-specifically, getting there just for its own sake-may be some special phenomenon-applying the shoes on that line-somewhat personal to your style; well, this was the picture-the day my old Vans Old Skool-sneakers glided unto my feet-it was an fall’s day-the decision for me was made; after all those weeks of deliberate hard work, I really deserved it.
I had entered in the old Skool store since day one, old signature was ever-alluring. One hand is a timeless classic; on the other, canvas plus suede; tried on looks good, but at the time, lacing them up, it felt more like gearing up for a journey into the next chapter of my life. Comfort came in with that instant padding hugging me-so well to be honest. One thing for sure, these were not for show-they were to withstand some real hustle and bustle of a busy life like mine.
The moment I could slip them on, I wanted to wear them everywhere: hanging out with friends, walking through town, and almost skating for the first time in years. Those memories of childhood hit home so strong as I walked through that cool atmosphere of the skate park. It made me feel like I could actually give some tricks a go with the grip of the shoes and cruise around with some confidence.
